Nonprofit Executive Director Mastermind

for the high-performing Executive Director of small to midsize nonprofits who wants to lead and grow their organization without burning out.
Who is this for?
  • The ED Mastermind is for high-performing Executive Directors who want to run a strong, well-funded nonprofit with less chaos, clearer focus, and more breathing room for their week.

  • A competent ED juggling board, staff, fundraising, and operations with a tight margin of support. Support can look like steady sources of income, staff, a plugged-in board, or even an unsteady leadership style.

  • Someone ready to move from "constant firefighter" to strategic leader and steward of a sustainable, well-governed organization.

  • For someone who desires to stay in the role long-term, but needs guidance figuring out what that looks like in reality for themselves.

  • An ED who values candid peer connection, structured learning, and practical, tailored support. These are not broad training sessions.

  • Someone who values peer-to-peer learning in small cohorts of about six.

Why?
  • The program intentionally covers organizational structure, people operations, development, and sustainability over 12 months, giving the ED a clear, manageable roadmap instead of piecemeal fixes. Although there are some best practices, the discussions will be tailored to the cohort, and one-on-one assistance will be provided to handle the direct concerns.

  • Quarterly workshops, monthly masterminds, and targeted 1:1 guidance with fractional leadership sessions (direct work, think on your budget or anything else you need) are designed to ease the role by sharing the mental load, improving systems, and strengthening board, money, and people leadership.

  • It supports EDs who want to level up impact and revenue while staying sane, building resilience, boundaries (how to do this with self and others), and a healthier culture so they can lead well for the long term.

The first cohort begins in June 2026 and ends in May 2027.
Cohorts will consist of about six ED's.

*More about Fractional Leadership Sessions*

*Fractional leadership sessions can focus on whatever is most pressing for your organization in the moment, including building a simple "revenue reboot" roadmap, tightening a 12-month fundraising plan, reviewing your budget and audit prep, or identifying new grant opportunities and creating a grants calendar.

They can also inclue updating policies and procedures so they match real life, cleaning up your org chart and people management practices, designing practical program evaluation plans, troubleshooting complex client situations from a social work lens, strengthening community partnerships and events, building a college internship pipeline, and walking through "Strategic Planning 101" to turn ideas into an actionable roadmap. Many of these will also be covered in the cohort mastermind sessions (see our curriculum below).
