As the founder and CEO of Curtis-Carr Consulting, I bring a diverse background in business, nonprofit management, and education. 

 

Since starting my consulting practice in 2022, I have helped organizations with grant writing, building infrastructure, Executive Director searches, and training new leaders to strengthen their impact. ​

​

I believe in empowering nonprofit leaders to secure the financial resources they need to create meaningful change in their communities, and that big ideas can drive significant collective impact when they are properly supported and funded.

Katie Cano

Grant Writer

& Editor

Katie supports the backbone of the operation by researching, drafting, and editing proposals that keep client projects moving forward. 

​

With a Master's in I/O Psychology and experience in education and the nonprofit sectors, she has worked directly with teachers and communities to implement technology programs that expand access to learning. She is published in the Journal of Ethics & Behavior and is the author of books on transformation and personal growth. 

​

When she is not writing, Katie can be found cooking, curled up with her three cats, planning her next camping trip, or taking strategic naps and yoga breaks. 

Dr. Kyle Wiskow

Grant Writer

& Research Assistant

Dr. Kyle Wiskow is an experienced educator, administrator, and grant writer based in Abilene, Texas. 

​

Holding a Doctorate in Leadership from Hardin-Simmons University, he has over a decade of experience leading schools, managing teams, and securing funding for organizations. 

​

As a Grant Research Assistant at Curtis-Carr Consulting, Kyle specializes in identifying funding opportunities, preparing successful grant applications, and providing strategic support to nonprofits. He is a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. He is married and the proud father of two children.

Nina Rose Peña

Social Media Strategist

& Instructional Support

Nina brings creativity and strategy to Curtis-Carr Consulting by helping nonprofits and brands elevate their social media presence and branding efforts. 

​

With a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction and years of experience in content development and design, she blends an eye for design with a knack for systematic storytelling to develop content that connects. 

​

Her work spans social media strategies, content creation, fundraising campaigns, and document styling. Whether she's creating dynamic content or drafting branded documents for organizations, Nina ensures each piece is aligned, intentional, and engaging. When Nina's not creating, she can be found taking a weighted vest walk, spending time with her husband and two sons, or researching new trends emerging in the social media space.
